Low-Cal Cake Batter Dip
Earlier today, my mom shared with me a Pinterest post with a recipe for cake batter dip. Yes, the yumminess of cake batter in a safer-than-raw dip. I knew I needed to try it out soon! The pin is from a Burgh Baby post, who linked credit for the recipe back to little bitty bakes.
Here's a bit of a pinker, sprinklier take on the recipe: + a tiny bit "healthier:"
THE INGREDIENTS: 6 ounces of vanilla yogurt (I used "light"), 1/2 cup of confetti cake mix, 1/3 cup of whipped topping (I used "sugar free")
THE RECIPE:
Mix ingredients. That's it. (My favorite kind of cooking!) + I added a few drops of red food coloring as I was mixing.
Before serving, add some pink sprinkles to top it off. I tried it out with animal crackers just like everyone else had, but I've now decided that graham crackers would also be a good choice.
By using light and sugar-free versions of the recipe, I've made myself believe it's a healthy snack :)
Here's a calorie-count breakdown:
6 ounces of light yogurt: 80 calories
1/2 cup of cake mix: 270 calories
1/3 cup of whipped topping: 53 calories
403 calories* in about 2 full cups of dip.
Not bad if you choose to share with friends and not eat the entire batch :)
* These calorie counts were calculated using the nutrition labels, Google, a calculator and a brain that hasn't taken a math course in 3 years. It took me a little while, so these estimates could be a little bit off. Calculate for yourself for confirmation.
This would be a perfect addition to any Valentine's day shin dig or baby & bridal shower.
