DIY Eggo Waffle Bar — Savannah by Season

There's not a whole lot I love more than waffle bars and food trucks. Either of those things, I'm there. However, Eggo is giving us the best of both worlds and touring across the country with their Waffle Bar Truck! The truck will move 200 times in the next 100+ days. It's actually in the Dallas-area right now and I'll be visiting one this week. You can see when it's coming near your city too with the Waffle Bar Truck Locator!

While I anxiously await for my Waffle Bar Truck experience, I decided to get a little Eggo waffle bar of my own going in our household!

If you're familiar with how the spring semester goes working in education, you'll know how busy Coach and I have been over the last couple months. Banquets, track meets, meetings, upcoming graduations, wrapping up the school year, etc. Basically, it's a mad house and we decided to throw "house hunting" in the mix as well.

We always need an easy weeknight meal idea, especially during this season of the year. We can't connect every single night over dinner, but with our four-and-a-half year wedding anniversary coming up this month (half anniversaries can be a thing, right?), we're making date night dinners a priority...and what's our favorite meal of every day? Breakfast for dinner, of course!

I stopped by my local Walmart on the way home from work and picked up all the items I needed for our waffle bar. I chose the Eggo Homestyle Waffles and Eggo Chocolatey Chip Waffles because you may need both a little original and a little sweet. Delicious News! Eggo waffles now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources.

As for the toppings and sides, we got Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter, Banquet® Brown'N Serve™ Original Sausage Links, Hungry Jack® Original Syrup, M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies, Reddi-wip® Original Dairy Whipped Topping, Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping and a small package of blackberries.

Once home, I set up small glass containers and added all spoon-able ingredients. This, while the Banquet® Brown'N Serve™ Original Sausage Links were being heated and my Eggo Homestyle and Chocolatey Chip Waffles were being toasted. When everything is hot and ready to serve, the fun really begins - putting on the toppings!

Coach is usually the more hearty breakfast-eater, but he couldn't resist the Eggo Chocolately Chip Waffles paired with the Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter and M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies (and plenty of Banquet® Brown'N Serve™ Original Sausage Links).

I went for a little less sweet choice with the Eggo Homestyle Waffles, and added on the Hungry Jack Original Syrup, Reddi-wip and berries.

So, as we "toast" our waffles to our 4.5 years of marriage and making it through another spring semester, we hope you can slow down at least once a week and make some time for breakfast for dinner with your family too.
