Ginger Foutley + Gerald Johanssen
This costume combination has been in my brain for a few years now and I finally had the chance to get it all together thanks to not being quarantined for Halloween this time around. Ginger Foutley from “According to Ginger” and Gerald Johanssen from “Hey Arnold!” should definitely meet up in the same Nickelodeon universe and become a couple. It just makes sense.
Now, when I had this costume all figured out in my head, it didn’t include me being nine months pregnant, but here we are anyway! I just had to buy some overalls a little bigger than my usual size. Plus, I happened to have a little baby Gerald in my 90’s Guest Room that perfectly goes with this little cartoon family I’ve created.
I shared on Instagram how I made Coach’s costume out of random things laying around the house. It was super easy! I had looked high and low for a wig, even a Marge Simpson one I could paint, but couldn’t find a thing. Cotton balls and bubble mailers to the rescue!
My costume was just as easy. I couldn’t find bright yellow hair clips, so I painted these cheap ones with acrylic paint. I already had the Target turtleneck sweater and bright lipstick from many years ago and the overall dress shipped in from Shein.
Happy Halloween, everyone! We’re going to go have a real baby now.
