Holidallas | Run The Lights
My husband and sister ran in Addison's recent inaugural Run The Lights 5K. I'm not a huge fan of running (or sweating), but for some reason these two seem to love it. For the last few years now, I've shared our quiet walks through the beautiful lights in Vitruvian Park, but this night was full of running, Christmas music, a Santa appearance and a dance party.
We thought there was going to be a downpour, but it turned out to be a pretty tame, misty night. The runners went and did their thing as my mom and I walked the park and cheered them on when we could.
For registering, participants got a blinking Santa hat, neon shirt, glow necklace and a bag full of sponsor goodies. My husband may just have won a few more prizes for placing 2nd overall! Despite the chilly weather, they both had a great time. My mom and I had a lot of fun spectating as well.
Since it was a sold out run, they promise to continue this new tradition again next year. If you're a big fan of running or looking at pretty Christmas lights, keep up with Run the Lights on their Facebook page or visit the Vitruvian Park event calendar.
We love spending the holiday season in our city of Dallas, TX. My hope is to spread some of that DFW Christmas cheer with y'all with my Holidallas posts.
